I wish to serve on the city council to promote progressive leadership based on a long-term vision for our city, emphasizing sustainable development, protection of open spaces, and improvement in the quality of life of Albany residents for generations to come. The Sierra Club has endorsed me for my principled positions on environmental issues. I have consistently supported Albany's efforts to establish a coherent, informed plan for the future of our waterfront. I want to continue the city's efforts to protect air, water, and soil quality through strong local, regional, and state advocacy. As a Planning & Zoning Commissioner since 2004, I have had the opportunity to become knowledgeable with the wide range of issues affecting Albany residents. I have
demonstrated a thoughtful approach that balances development with preserving a
livable city, by improving pedestrian and bicycle access, promoting a high
standard of quality in design and construction, and enhancing city's creeks,
parks, and waterfront areas. I want to maintain Albany's unique small-town character, that thrives
within the cosmopolitan and multi-cultural Bay Area. With your support, I would
