Dear Friends,

Over the past four years, I have had the honor to serve the community as a Planning & Zoning Commissioner. During this time I learned a great deal about the issues that are important to Albany residents and participated in wide range of decisions affecting our city. My experience has inspired me to run for City Council.

As a candidate, I want to promote a long-term vision for Albany focused around sustainable growth and community development, protection of open spaces and watersheds, and the improvement of the quality of life of Albany residents.

I am asking for you support. I need your help to succeed.

The Sierra Club has endorsed me for my principled positions on environmental issues. I have supported Albany's efforts to establish a coherent, informed plan for the future of our waterfront. I want to continue the city's efforts to protect air, water, and soil quality through strong local, regional, and state advocacy.

Recently, Albany was recognized as the California’s “Greenest” City and I would work hard to maintain that distinction.

I support a thoughtful approach that balances development with preserving a livable city. This means improving pedestrian and bicycle access through better urban planning, promoting improved high-quality design and construction, and enhancing city's creeks, parks, and waterfront areas.

As a Planning & Zoning Commissioner, I have supported or helped implement:

  • Community Based Waterfront Planning
  • Affordable / Inclusionary Housing Standards
  • Green Building Standards
  • Public Art Provisions
  • Integrated Pest Management Plan
  • Cell-phone Antenna Regulations
  • Expanded City Hall Renovations to Include a New Emergency Operations Center
  • Maintaing and improving quality pre-school facilities and after-school programs

Our schools are a source of pride for the community, and I will continue to maintain this high priority.

I will work to sustain Albany's unique small-town character, thriving within the cosmopolitan and multi-cultural Bay Area. With your support, I would like to articulate a first-class vision worthy of our world-class city.

Thank You
